friday finds xi

i'm so glad it's friday.

the weather's gorgeous, the sun is out and i'm just feeling happy today.

if you want to pick up a little something this weekend, here's some wallet-friendly ways to do it.

water bottles | print | cards | top | necklace | shower curtain

that print would be adorable in the kitchen. and how comfy does that shirt look?

my shower curtain is getting a little old. this striped one is looking like the perfect replacement.

have a wonderful weekend!

growing cities

learn more here

this one, called 'growing cities' is particularly interesting to me. i love all sorts of documentaries, but any one about food and sustainability always really draws me in.

my mother and grandmother are both big gardeners. i am...not. this is something i'm hoping to change over time because the idea of growing your own food just fascinates me.

glamorous

on april 12, something major is happening at h & m.

that's the day they're set to launch their exclusive 'glamour conscious collection'

i'll explain more in a second, but for now, let's feast our eyes:

via h&m

outta this world.

that last one?

even though i want nothing at all to do with long dresses ever (my wedding dress is short!), i want it.

desperately.

the cool thing about this collection though is that it is at once fabulous and friendly to the earth. they've all been created using sustainable materials such as organic cotton, hemp and recycled polyester.

i didn't get into the marni thing they had going on, but this looks like a whole lot of fun. you can read more about it here and here.

i'm in.

arganica

via groupon | how cute are their crates?!

arganica was on groupon a few months ago, and i didn't pull the trigger.

but it's back today and i decided to go for the one-month membership

what's arganica?

here's an excerpt from their site:

"each week, arganica becomes a moveable feast delivered directly to your door. our fresh local produce comes from the best no-spray, low spray and organic growers. small family farms provide no-hormone and organic milk, cheese, eggs and fresh meats. our whole-grain breads are baked with love at small local bakeries."

i'm really looking forward to seeing what's in my crate + i'll be sure to take lots of pictures once it comes.

three meals

breakfast | get outta here caraway seeds

lunch | chipotle burrito bowl

if i can go on a teeny tiny tangent here, i have to really commend chipotle for setting the standard in their industry.

"food with integrity" they call it.

an excerpt from their site:
"...our commitment to finding the very best ingredients, raised with respect for the animals, the environment, and the farmers."

there's even more here.
_ _ _

i hope that a generation from now, this is how all 'convenience food' purveyors will operate. and besides being admirable and ahead of nearly all of their competitors, it's simply the right thing to do.

the problem is that so few people know/care. but those who do care, continue to make more and more noise. i have to believe they'll be heard some day.

no trees please

just in time for
bbq/al fresco dining season,
say hello
to these beautifully designed plates from wasara

[ feast your eyes ]

all pieces are made without trees.

instead wasara uses renewable materials such as sugar cane fiber, bamboo, and reed pulp.

[is that a whole carrot inside an eggroll?]

neato, right?
